Granby Municipal Court
The town of Granby municipal court handles traffic, parking, animal and other municipal code violations. Many of the charges are payable prior to court. The court clerk is available to accept payment of fines or answer questions during normal business hours. The court clerk is not allowed to give legal advice, please seek legal advice from an attorney.
Municipal court is held on the third Thursday of every month at 10:30 a.m. in the board room of the Granby town hall.
The town of Granby municipal court is a court of record. Court proceedings are governed by state statutes, court rules, and the ordinances of the town of Granby.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Dress comfortably but not too informal – Halter tops, gang-related clothing, drug-related clothing, clothing with sexually explicit graphics, beachwear, sleepwear or excessively revealing clothing are not appropriate attire for court appearances. Hats are to be removed prior to entering the courtroom, unless worn for religious purposes. The Court reserves the right to refuse entry into the Courtroom.
The Granby Municipal Court is open. Those who have received a summons are expected to appear in court on their scheduled date. If you are appearing in person for any Court proceeding, the following procedure will be strictly followed and enforced:
